The Advanced Stock Market And Day Trading Guide

I lost money and was frustrated – I even quit investing for a while, thinking it wasn’t for me. I was wrong.

That all changed when I found an article online that covered the best ways to learn about stocks. It was exactly what I needed.

10 years later, I’m writing the guide I wish I had learned about stocks. I hope my experience will help you avoid the same mistakes I made.

To raise money (and enrich the founders), founders will sell their companies to the public by listing them on an exchange. The company is now public stock, and is divided into millions of shares, each share representing fractional ownership of the company.

This is known as an initial public offering (IPO). After a company’s IPO, anyone can buy their shares and become part owners of the “public” company.

Now, instead of the founder owning a majority, millions of investors each own a share of the company.

Since these companies are public, you can become a part owner in each of them by buying their shares.

Now that you know what it is, let’s cover the best way to learn about stocks and how to learn the stock market.

Best Ways To Learn Stock Trading Fast In 2023

Every investor needs a brokerage account for stock trading. Most of them offer a few free stocks just for signing up.

After depositing money into your account, your brokerage account facilitates investment transactions when you want to buy and sell stocks. Your brokerage connects you to stock exchanges where companies are available for buying and selling.

My favorite broker is eToro. It is easy to use, fast, secure and allows you to buy stocks and cryptocurrencies (like Bitcoin).

Each new account is given a demo account – a virtual portfolio with $100,000 to practice investing and familiarize yourself with how to trade stocks. You can face the stock market and learn to place trades without risking your money.

A Beginner’s Guide To Online Stock Trading

This is the tool I wish I had when I was just starting out. An eToro demo account would have saved me hundreds of dollars (probably more) and eliminated the frustration I experienced. In my opinion, this is the best way to learn how to trade and I recommend it to every beginner investor.

EToro ranks #1 on our list of best stock apps, and it’s completely free to open an account with eToro.

EToro is a multi-asset investment platform. The value of your investment may go up or down. Your investment is at risk.

Having someone you can ask questions, bounce ideas off of, and learn from their direct experience is invaluable.

It will also help to have someone who knows you well. Your situation, financial goals, and risk tolerance will be important components in building your investment portfolio, so it’s especially helpful to get specific recommendations to meet your needs.

If you don’t know any investors, all the more reasons to use eToro. eToro is one of the largest social investment platforms in the world.

You can learn, strategize, and even copy some of the trades from eToro’s 28.5 million users. Get started today!

If you don’t know any investors personally or want even more education on the stock market, YouTube is your best friend.

There are countless videos that explain how to trade and how to learn about investing in the stock market from the most experienced investors.

While the experience isn’t the same as talking face-to-face with someone you know and trust, YouTube is like having a whole network of friends ready and willing to teach you about stocks.

Personally, I find learning from videos easier (and more engaging) than learning from reading, but if you’re a text-based learner then #4 is for you.

Some of the world’s most famous traders and investors have written books based on their experiences and what worked for them – who better to learn from?

The list above is full of timeless classics, interspersed with the expensive and the incredibly affordable (free with a library card). Use books to learn stock trading.

While it won’t give you direct investment experience (like an eToro demo account), it’s the easiest way to start learning how stocks fluctuate.

If you’re an iPhone or Android user (if you’re an Android user, do yourself a favor and get an iPhone), an app to track stocks will be pre-downloaded on your phone. How to learn the stock market has never been easier!

Track your favorite stocks, see what’s in the news, and start keeping up with the latest economic data. While this is not the most direct way to learn stock trading, you will be surprised how much you can raise with little effort.

Many investors send information to their audience about their stock picks and how they interpret the latest economic data each week.

Subscribing to several free email newsletters will give you insight into how experienced investors think and may help you find some winning investment ideas.

However, most newsletters are not geared toward beginner investors. Make sure to find ones that aren’t too far over your head or you won’t be interested in reading them.

There are so many free resources out there (everything on the list above) that I have a hard time recommending anything paid, but there are some useful options.

A paid subscription to a service like Motley Fool Stock Advisor can help you “skip” the early stages of your investment journey and start investing in high-quality stock picks right from the start.

You may not build your investment base this way, but the point of investing is to get a good return, right? This is exactly what Motley Fool has to offer:

Who needs to take the time to figure out how to learn about stocks if you can just skip to the good parts?

There are many unsavory players in this industry, though, so be sure to do your homework before entering your credit card details.

Last but not least, make sure you know how much money you can earn from stocks per month before you start chasing returns.

How To Buy Alternative Investments

Online courses and cohort-based workshops can be of great help in getting you started investing in the stock market.

While you can get this information from free sources, some people need to take a course so they can follow through on investing. If you only consume free content you may never take the time to get started.

Additionally, many employers will “match” your contributions, up to a certain amount. Matching 401k is the closest thing to free money you will find.

Steps To Learn Stock Market Investing

If I were starting over, knowing what I know now, I would open a demo account with eToro and ask my family and friends what they know about stocks and my investment in my demo account. Start practicing investment tracking and ordering.

Then I would turn to YouTube to learn more about the stock market. First, I’ll start by looking at the general stock market and investing video. Once I have familiarized myself with the basics, I will look for more specific questions.

When I’m ready, I’ll switch my eToro account from my “Demo Account” to my “Real Account”, deposit some funds and start investing.
