I’m excited about today’s workout because so many people have been asking me for exercises to get rid of _____ (fill in the blank for each problem area.) Today we’re focusing on the love handles…the lower back that goes up through the waist.
You CAN lose your love handles when you use targeted exercises in addition to your diet and full training program. But please note that you will not find out how to reduce love by just practicing. If you don’t eat and exercise the rest of your body, your results will be negligible.
But there is good news! All of the love handle exercises I’m going to share today work together to compress the lower back muscles like a corset. It will help you get results faster when you use one of my meal plans.
Best Exercises To Alleviate Love Handles For Good
Notice how all the exercises target the lower back and waist in different ways. That’s the secret sauce that makes this workout so effective.

Lie on the floor with your knees bent. Your arms should be down by your side with your palms on the floor. Lift your shoulders off the floor. This will be your starting position. Reach one arm down toward the heel on the same side. Without lowering your arms, immediately return to the starting position and then repeat the movement on the other side to complete one repetition.
Start in a side plank position. Lift the top of your leg and extend your free arm above your head. This is your starting position. Bring your elbow and knee as close together as possible. Release the contraction and return to the starting position to complete one repetition. Do the same number of repetitions on the other side to complete one set.
Love Handle Exercises: 7 Exercises To Get Rid Of Your Love Handles
Grab a dumbbell and sit on the floor with your legs straight. Hold your weight and bend your knees as you lift your feet off the floor. Hold the weight in front of you and keep your back straight and lean back a little as you balance on your butt. This is your starting position. Turn the torso and dip the weight to one side. Then reverse the movement, swing back across your body and dip the weight to the other side. A dip on either side will complete one repetition.
Get into a side plank with your upper arm extended overhead. This is your starting position. Turn your hand down and under your body and pass it through the negative space between your body and the ground, as if you were threading a needle. Reverse the movement and return to the starting position to complete one repetition. Do the same number of repetitions on the other side to complete one set.
Stand with your feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart, with a dumbbell in both hands. Raise one arm straight up above your head and keep the other arm down by your side. This is your starting position. Lower your lower arm toward your leg as far as you can while keeping your other arm extended overhead. Reverse the movement and return to the starting position to complete one repetition. Repeat the same number of repetitions on the other side to complete your set.
Stand with your feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. Raise the barbell above your head with both hands. This is your starting position. Slowly lower the weight to one side. Hold for a count, then swing the weight back up and to the opposite side to complete one rep. Swing the weight back and forth like a pendulum until you complete your set.
