In This World You Will Have Trials – I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, many trials and sorrows await you. But take it easy, for I have conquered the world. John 16:33 (NLT)

Jesus never promised that the Christian life would be easy. In fact, he promised you a fight. He promised that after Him life would probably be much more difficult. This is why we need the Holy Spirit in our lives to encourage, comfort and guide us into all truth.

In This World You Will Have Trials

The passage above is one of the last times Jesus spoke to his disciples before he was wrongfully arrested, tried, convicted, and crucified. He knew what was coming. But he had to tell the disciples that trouble would come very soon. He needed them to know that life following Him is one of many trials and tribulations.

Find Peace In Jesus

But those trials, instead of driving us away from Jesus, giving up when the going gets tough, are meant to bring us back to Him and to desire even more for all His promises. Even when the world around us seems to be falling apart, we can have peace. We can know it will come, and true peace is found in Jesus, our Good Shepherd, who guides us through our difficulties. Jesus, the Good Shepherd has already endured everything we face in this world and He has overcome!

Be encouraged today! Find your peace in Him and surrender as you face the many trials and sorrows of this world. He overcame it all! I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, many trials and sorrows await you. But take it easy, for I have conquered the world. John 16:33

Jesus says: I am telling you about these things in advance so that you will not be worried. Trusting in Me, believing in Me, you will be steadfast, true and deeply at peace. Peace *with* God gives us the peace of God. You will experience hardships in this godless world, but don’t worry because you too can count on Jesus right there with you in the midst of it. And, yes, about this ungodly world… don’t forget, Jesus has already won.

God, I believe in You. No matter what comes my way, I believe that You have overcome the world. Though trouble is constant, You are my constant source of peace in the midst of it. You surround me and protect me. Nothing is too difficult for you to achieve. I will praise You because You are the one I trust – You rule. In Jesus name, Amen.

Overcoming Trials And Temptations

We love the word ‘easy’. We want everything to be easy. If we had a choice to do something easy or hard, we would definitely do it

“I have told you this so that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation…”

These are the words of Jesus. He even told us in John 15:18-19 that we would be hated by the world. We’re seeing this happen more and more around the world, but it’s certainly not a new thing. Christians have been persecuted since time immemorial for simply being Christians. We can expect to see many more before the Lord returns to His church.

Living for God does not mean that all your troubles will disappear, but it does mean that you have hope and someone to turn to, someone who walks beside you and lives in you.

When I was in Haiti a couple of years ago, I saw people who were struggling. Many did not have the amenities we so easily take for granted. Some did not have electricity, a car or more than a shack to live in and may have been hungry. But the victors took the hard life they were given and lived it

When trials are upon us, and when they come, we can turn to Him for our strength, comfort, and wisdom.

He has promised us that we will have life and have it more abundantly because He has overcome! Even if we have nothing, we can still know that living for God is the most rewarding, fulfilling, and happiest life in this world. He carries us.
