How To Get Rid Of Belly Fat After Pregnancy

Like most women, I’ve been struggling with that stubborn belly fat that never seems to go away! You think you are eating healthy, exercising and not overdoing it; you are losing weight, but the dog stays. In my experience, there is no secret magic diet that will eliminate this…it’s definitely a lifestyle change situation here. The phrase “abs are made in the kitchen” is so true! So, if you want to know how I got rid of my dog ​​in my belly, keep reading! (Also, just FYI, I’ve never been pregnant, so my lower belly problem wasn’t caused by pregnancy. This post is my experience getting rid of lower belly fat.)

I’m not going to lie, my trainer writes my meal plans for me. I’m a dancer training for audition season, so sometimes I need that responsibility… being called out for my slip-ups makes me slip up less (I don’t diet, so following a specific eating plan is extremely difficult for me. I only do this on months leading up to audition season, but I like my tacos. I’m all for a lifestyle change and eating treats in moderation when I’m not preparing for auditions.) I made your nutrition plan to prepare for auditions. auditions last year which I started in December 2018 and after the auditions ended I did not follow her exact eating plans, however I maintained healthier food choices and continued good eating habits.

The photo below, on the left, was me in December 2018. I’ve always been thin, but as you can see, I clearly have a lower belly. I’ve always had a hard time gaining weight and keeping it off, but as soon as I started gaining the wrong kind of weight, it went straight to my lower belly. It always made me self-conscious and I tried so many ways to get rid of it that didn’t work. However, at the time, I drank every weekend and ate too many desserts. Other than that, I was eating “healthy” but not “clean.”

The photo on the right side was before I started my audition meal plan again in January 2020. There was a gap of about 8 months between finishing last year’s meal plan and starting it again this year. Even though I didn’t follow a strict eating plan, I incorporated some big lifestyle changes, like a diet that included mostly fruits, vegetables, fish, organic animal protein, a lot less alcohol (but I don’t drink any more), and a lot less desserts.

I’ve learned a lot about how my body works and how to fuel it properly over the last year and a half. I know what caused my belly fat and I know how to keep it away. I know everyone’s body is different, however, the tips I’m sharing are things I think you can incorporate to be healthier overall and hopefully help get rid of belly fat too!

I know this sounds extreme and you’re probably saying to yourself “well, one drink won’t hurt”. I used to say the same thing, though, that drink hurt! I realized that when I go out, it’s not the lack of alcohol that’s strange… It’s not having a glass in my hand. So I just get water or iced tea without sweets. And I also realized that not drinking makes other people more uncomfortable than I am. Just some things to think about!

If it comes in a package or you don’t know what it was, don’t eat it. Stick to fruits, vegetables, nuts, organic (or at the very least antibiotic-free) meat, wild-caught fish, organic grains (like oats, quinoa, rice…not bread and pasta). not trying to digest like 30 ingredients at once.

My mindset is that God has provided us with all the food we need, in the form we need it. We shouldn’t consume a lot of preservatives and processed foods. You can season your food with spices like salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ginger, cinnamon, basil, parsley, etc… you get where I’m going. No artificial flavors and limit natural flavors. And if you think you’ll miss calcium by not drinking milk, you won’t! If you are following a well-balanced whole food diet, you should not be lacking in most nutrients, including calcium. There are much better, healthier sources of calcium (like dark leafy greens). You don’t need dairy to get enough calcium!
