It might be a recommendation for those who want to become financially literate at the most basic but necessary level. Right with The Simple Path to Wealth, it seems better.

Are Stock Markets Open On New Year’s Eve 2022?

Here’s a simple, quick introduction to stock market investing. Short chapters introduce basic concepts clearly, making this ideal for beginners. Feroldi helps readers feel empowered and confident in starting their investment journey.

A good book for anyone who wants to start investing in the stock market and is looking for some basic knowledge about it. It contains a simple explanation, enough historical context, and some useful graphics. I like the concise style of each chapter offering just the right amount of information (no more, no less). I’ve been investing for almost two years, but it’s still useful to brush up on the basics and remind myself of some key principles.

This blogg is not a book. The book tries to come from claming as seriously as it is 294 pages. I have never read 294 pages so fast in my life and I am not a fast reader. The simple answer is that it is not 294, it will be up to about 90 if it is properly formatted as a real book, maybe 60 if you remove all the duplicate information, unnecessary lists and recaps at the end of some chapters. Some chapters are not even a page long. Secondly, the quality of the book is incredibly low. It claims that it is made simple so that anyone can start investing. That is not a problem, in fact it is a good thing. However, it still requires the content to be of high quality even if it is explained in simple terms. This in itself is a problem with the book because it simplifies things so far that you throw away useful and necessary information to explain it in easy-to-understand language that the point becomes useless because it has nothing to do with the real world. I follow Brian on twitter and I like some of his tweets because they are informative, so when the news came that he had written a book I was actually excited to read it. As soon as I started though I became a little disappointed because it wasn’t the “book” I thought it would be. So I though maybe it will be good for my wife who has started to take an interest in investment and finance, or for my son when he is older. The short answer is no. The book doesn’t teach you anything meaningful and what it does try and teach you is so simple that it doesn’t work. It’s not a book, it’s a longer bloggpost that you pay a high price for. Very very disappointed…. this is a book you can do without!

I have been investing for about a year, so I am still very new to investing. Brian Feroldi begins this book by saying that he wrote the book he wanted when he was trying to learn investing, and he nailed it. Whether you’re just getting started, or about to get started, this short book provides tons of value. I think it’s also a great refresher book for any experienced investor to remember some fundamental aspects of the market and how the stock market works. The book begins by giving a brief history of the stock market, and I actually finally learned what NASDAQ and Dow Jones are thanks to Feroldi. From there, Feroldi uses fictitious coffee startups to explain how businesses start, why they go public, and all the other aspects of what makes their stock prices go up and down. This paints an easy-to-understand picture for the reader, and he provides tons of visuals in the book. And after laying the foundation for all of this, he answered a bunch of questions new investors ask like when you should sell a stock, if a financial advisor is a good idea, how diversified you should be and more. Great book, and I highly recommend it.

The best intro for investment books I’ve read Brian is an expert in making things simple. Not a wasted word or chapter. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!

I’m a fairly casual investor who graduated from business school about five years ago. I have enjoyed following Bryan on Twitter for a while now, and was glad to pick up this book as a refresher on my financial knowledge. The book was pretty much what I expected. The quote on the front of the book describes it perfectly, “simple, no nonsense, and practical.” If you are looking for something more advanced, you may not find this worth your time. Since I am not active in the financial world, I appreciated the refresher this book provided. For example: what is the P/E ratio, and what does a rise or fall in the P/E ratio *can* indicate. I will likely share this book with people in my life who have not yet started investing and need a very simple read to break through a potentially complex topic.

Key Learning Points 1. Stocks follow earnings – If earnings go up, stock prices go up. When earnings fall, stock prices fall. – Businesses that grow their profits have the ability to share larger and larger profit streams with their shareholders. 2. What is the stock price – How much profit is the company expected to earn in the future. – How much investors are willing to pay to buy their earnings today. 3. Market crashes – Accidents cannot be predicted because they are caused by human emotions. – tough economic times force businesses, workers and entrepreneurs to try new things. – Weak businesses die in decline, which allows stronger competitors to capture their customers. Overall, it was a good introduction to the market.

Excellent introduction to the stock market, stock market psychology, and how earnings drive the market. This book is written in a very easy to read manner. The chapters are so short that it encourages finishing the book in a day or two. I will call myself as a person with intermediate knowledge in the stock market and I can read, take notes and complete the book in 2 days. I highly recommend it to anyone new to the world of investing. Part 8 on How to start can be improved by introduced terms related to buying and selling stocks such as limit orders, etc., I really loved “Odds of a Positive Real Return”, “U.S. Stock Market Crashes”, and why earnings. go up part.

I enjoyed the simple and clear approach that Brian took to explain a rather complex topic. Experienced investors will argue that this book is too simplified, but that’s the point. I would have loved to read this book in high school or college. Highly recommended for all new investors or anyone interested in knowing why the stock market exists, and how stocks work. In terms of format, the chapter is short and clear, I like it. They even included a “Review” section at the end, which I skipped every time because the chapter was short enough to keep them in my head. It’s useful to come back later, tho.

A no-nonsense book, to the point and concise. Brian Feroldi also spoke of 20 years of information consumed in the Stock Market. This booklet should be taught to our students from high school. Financial literacy is important and this is one of the best gifts we can give to our younger generation. This book explains why the stock market is a great wealth-making machine and explains all your queries with “What” “Why” and “How”. This book will give you the confidence and encouragement to start investing. If you are still
