Carbon Dioxide Does Not Cause Global Warming – The USGCRP (GlobalChange.gov) uses this graph to prove that CO2 is driving warming. However, this study shows why the graph actually shows the opposite, meaning that there is no correlation for the entire 1880-2000 period.

The global average annual temperature (as measured over both land and ocean) has increased by more than 1.5 degrees Celsius since 1880 (2012). Red bars are temperatures above long-term averages, blue bars are temperatures below long-term averages. The black line shows the atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration in parts per million (ppm). Although there is a clear long-term trend in global warming, some years show no increase in temperature compared to the previous year, and some years have larger changes than others. Year-to-year fluctuations in temperature are caused by natural processes such as El Niños, La Niñas, and volcanic eruptions.

In fact, at first glance, CO2 concentrations seem to be driving global temperatures. Temperatures in red from the 70s on the right side of the graph are a strong indication of this.

Invisible Carbon Dioxide

The authors of the graph also concluded that annual temperature fluctuations on the blue side of the graph are due to short-term natural processes and can therefore be considered insignificant.

A closer look at the graph in Figure 2 shows that the above conclusion is incorrect, as the 130-year statistics are actually divided into five isolated and independent periods, the first four of which are exactly 30 years. Long, classified as belonging to “climate” and not just “weather”.

In fact, these temperature changes cannot be explained as “the effect of natural processes such as Niños, La Niñas and volcanic eruptions” as climatologists hypothesize.

First, the IPCC admitted that global warming stopped between 1998 and 2012, but later, some climatologists claimed that the warming never happened. As a result, they “statistically” show warming despite the fact. Therefore, to avoid using these controversial data, we exclude the fifth period, the temperature statistics above 2000, from this evaluation.

Our Planet Is Warming. Here’s What’s At Stake If We Don’t Act Now.

Throughout the period covered by the graph, CO2 concentrations have been rising, but at a higher rate since the 1970s.

For this reason, we start the analysis with the fourth period (1970–2000), where there is a perfect correlation between the two variables.

However, this relationship may have been obtained by the authors of the paper simply by adjusting the measurement scales of the two variables. .

Carbon Dioxide Does Not Cause Global Warming

And, as always, the evidence is solid. After the two scales are found to be correlated in the fourth period, it is confirmed that CO2 concentrations are indeed driving climate change, and if so, the other correlation coefficients are the same for all the other three periods.

Where More People Will Die — And Live — Because Of Hotter Temperatures

In the first period (1880–1910), CO2 concentrations rise and temperatures fall, implying a negative correlation. Temperature changes during this period were not driven by CO2.

The second period (1910 – 1940) compared to the fourth period, the temperature increases several times higher than CO2. Temperature is correlated with CO2, but its correlation coefficient value is less than 0.3, meaning that the relationship between the two variables is weak and possibly insignificant.

More importantly, an examination of the June 2019 temperature graph found on the CRU website shows that the second period warmed almost as much as the fourth period: 0.47ºC (0.84ºF) in length, as shown in Figure 2. Again, this does not happen if we have a correlation between the two variables.

Finally, during the third period (1940-1970) the temperature decline is smaller and more uniform, although CO2 concentrations and concentrations are higher than in the first two periods. As a result, there is a non-significant negative correlation between these two variables.

Public Opinion On Climate Change

But this fixed period plays an important role in our story, and we’ll get a glimpse of it in the next chapter.

In conclusion, the correlation coefficient established to obtain a perfect correlation between CO2 concentration and temperature rise in the fourth period is not confirmed when we look at the four periods simultaneously.

Therefore, this graph that AGW believers use to prove that CO2 and global warming are correlated is actually the opposite: life on Earth depends on energy from the sun. About half of the light energy that reaches the Earth’s atmosphere passes through air and clouds to the surface, where it is absorbed and radiated as infrared light. About 90% of this heat is absorbed and re-radiated by greenhouse gases, slowing the loss of space heat.

Carbon Dioxide Does Not Cause Global Warming

Over the past century, the burning of fossil fuels such as coal and oil has increased the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide.

Proof That Co2 Does Not Cause Warming

). This increase occurs because the process of burning coal or oil combines carbon with oxygen in the air to form CO

. To some extent, land clearing for agriculture, industry, and other human activities has increased greenhouse gas concentrations.

Ice cores are the best source of historical data for scientists. Other tools for learning about Earth’s ancient atmosphere include tree growth rings, which record the temperature, humidity, and cloudiness of each growing season for about 2,000 years. Corals also form growth rings that provide information about tropical ocean temperatures and nutrients. Other agents, such as arcuate nuclei, extend our knowledge of the past by about a billion years.

Industrial activity on which our modern civilization depends has increased atmospheric carbon dioxide levels by nearly 50% since 1750

Scott Pruitt: Climate Change Not Primarily Caused By Carbon Dioxide

. This increase is due to human activity, as scientists can see a unique isotopic fingerprint in the atmosphere.

In its Sixth Assessment Report, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, composed of scientific experts from around the world, concluded that there is no doubt that CO is increasing.

Industrial-era atmospheric greenhouse gases and nitrous oxide are the result of human activities, and human influence is a major driver of many changes in the atmosphere, ocean, cryosphere, and biological environment.

Carbon Dioxide Emissions May Not Surpass 2019 Levels Until 2027: Analysis

Scientists use a measure called total solar irradiance (TSI) to measure changes in the amount of energy the Earth receives from the Sun. The TSI includes the 11-year solar cycle from the Sun’s surface and solar and storm cycles.

Studies show that solar variability played a role in earlier changes. For example, decreased solar activity and increased volcanic activity helped trigger the Little Ice Age.

The graph above compares the change in global temperature (red line) to the solar energy received by the Earth in watts (units of energy) per square meter since 1880. The lines show the 11-year average trend. An 11-year average is used to reduce natural noise in the data from year to year, so that underlying trends are more apparent.

The amount of solar energy received by the Earth has followed the Sun’s natural 11-year miniaturization cycle and has not increased net since 1880. During the same period, global temperatures rose significantly. It is therefore unlikely that the Sun is causing the global warming trend observed over the past half century. With 26 Earth-observing satellite missions, as well as instruments flying on airplanes and the space station, NASA has a global vantage point for studying our planet. The agency will share this knowledge and data at the 28th UN Conference on Climate Change (COP28), which takes place from Thursday 30 November to Tuesday 12 December.

Such high-tide flooding, which inundates roads and buildings on the West Coast of the United States, is rare outside of El Niño years, but that could change by the 2030s.

Data from NASA and other agencies show that the global decline of coral reefs is largely due to changes and other human activities, including pollution. While some corals survive even in poor conditions, scientists stress the importance of taking action to better protect and manage reefs.
