The Ten Commandments Of Progressive Christianity Pdf – I wanted to write a quick post about the main issues that I believe are currently threatening the Church and the purity, truth and transforming power of the gospel.

Consequences: These things at best hinder spiritual growth (sanctification) keeping us as infant Christians, and at worst create a false sense of assurance of salvation without true repentance and faith in Jesus and discipleship (and can also lead others astray).

James 1:5 says: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without fault, and it will be given to him.

I decided to exclude what I would consider more obvious heresies/issues: the prosperity gospel (Joel Olsteen) and the word of faith (false healings, Benny Hinn, etc). To learn more about those, check out the first one

Some of these overlap. For example: progressive Christianity is usually paired with social justice/liberation theology and a watered-down gospel that doesn’t address sin and focuses on society, equality, and welfare messages that may (or may not) be helpful temporarily but aren’t. spiritual

“Preaching the Word must be the very heart of our ministry philosophy. Every other philosophy replaces the voice of God with human wisdom. The preacher’s job is not to be a conduit for human wisdom. He is the voice of God to speak to the community. No human message comes with the stamp of divine authority—only God’s Word does… Moral lectures and motivational speeches are no substitute for God’s Word. Why should we proclaim the wisdom of men, when we have the privilege of God? – John MacArthur

1 Peter 3:15: but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always ready to defend everyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; however, do it with gentleness and respect

Ten Commandments Bible Quiz

Remember that we are called to be both salt and light to the world. Many Christians focus on being a light – in the sense of being joyful, kind, welcoming and kind, but often we do this at the expense of the truth and how we are called to be different from the world.

Matthew 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its taste, how will its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under the feet of men. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither does one light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

I wanted to write this because I have either fallen into these things or seen its devastating effects on fellow believers or unbelievers especially in the last few months/years. I hope this does not offend you, but will encourage a deeper understanding of the faith you hold or the faith you are considering. I pray that God will grow us all in wisdom, discernment, mercy, gentleness and knowledge of His truth.

Personally, God has used these resources to deepen my faith over the past 1.5 years (or more): (I have been a Christian for about 9 years, click here to read my post about my testimony).

Pdf) Scientific Analysis Of The Christian Faith: My Biblical Commentary

There are so many warnings in the Bible about false gospels and following ideas that are against the Bible and gospel and character of God.

I wonder that you are so quick to forsake Him who called you in the grace of Christ and turn to another gospel—not that there is another, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we preached to you, let him be anathema. Galatians 1:6-8

For this very reason, try to add good to your faith; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, piety; and to piety, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. Because if you possess these qualities more and more, they will prevent you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is short-sighted and blind, forgetting that they are cleansed from their past sins. 2 Peter 1:5-9

Why You Can’t Have Equality Without God

Not long ago, I came across a list of ten principles presented by proponents of progressive Christianity. They are, in effect, new Ten Commandments. What is striking is that they are much less about God revealing his desires and much more about man expressing his own—less Moses, more Oprah.

However, each of these “commandments” is partially true. Indeed, that is what makes this list, and progressive Christianity as a whole, so challenging. Half-truths can sound quite attractive until you recognize their foundations and implications. In this booklet, I diagnose and criticize each of these tenets and offer a brief biblical and theological response.

Liberal Christianity never really goes away. If the church is to hold fast to “the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3), we must, in every age, be able to distinguish the true faith from the false.

“It’s amazing how many of these new ‘Ten Commandments’ are taken for granted in our culture and also slip easily from the language in Christian circles. As a highly gifted surgeon, Michael Kruger refuses to offer light diagnoses or superficial cures. This is timely and compelling analysis we all need to hear.”

“I recognize these Ten Commandments of Progressive Christianity from growing up in the Protestant mainline and from many churches in my community today. There is nothing new in their message, even when such churches portray themselves as our future. Michael Kruger helps us see the internal inconsistencies of their teaching as they decry certainty with, well, certainty. We must be equipped to see why such attempts to revise Christianity will never turn the world upside down, as the apostles did with the good news that Jesus Christ is Lord.”

“Don’t let the brevity of this book fool you. Mike Kruger has written a strong critique of the intellectual bankruptcy and theological deviation of progressive Christianity. Churches, pastors, students, youth groups, Christian schools, and Christian colleges would do well to appropriate the wisdom in this short, but devastating, little book.”
